As per reports, there was a shooting incident involving an undercover Houston Police Department (HPD) officer on Monday (29 July) at around 2345 hours local time. The officer was monitoring possible criminal activity at Idaho and Scott Street while observing a group of men. Later, at least one of the men opened fire on the undercover vehicle and then fled the scene on foot.
HPD has not released any details about possible connections to the crime. The undercover officer was not injured in the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
