Shelter-in-place order issued in Northwest Portland amid search for armed suspect on Wednesday (12 August)

As per reports, Portland Police Bureau (PPB) issued a shelter-in-place order for part of Northwest Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday (12 August), as officers search for an armed suspect.

• The order applies to an area bordered by Northwest Overton Street and Northwest Northrup Street, between Northwest 18th Avenue and Northwest 19th Avenue.
• According to police, a suspect armed with a knife fled from officers on foot on Wednesday (12 August) afternoon. Authorities subsequently established a police perimeter and advised people within the affected area to remain indoors and keep doors and windows locked.
• Police officers are conducting search operations using K9 units and drones. The suspect remains at large as of the latest update.
