As per reports, Glendale Police Department advised residents to shelter in place in parts of Glendale, Arizona, on Wednesday (12 August), amid an ongoing police operation involving a barricaded suspect who allegedly fired at officers.
• As of approximately 1635 hours local time (2335 hours UTC), the incident was ongoing near the intersection of 75th Avenue and Glendale Avenue in the West Valley.
• Police stated that the suspect had barricaded himself in the area after allegedly firing at responding officers. Police vehicles were also reportedly struck by ‘projectiles’ during the incident.
• Authorities subsequently notified residents in the vicinity to shelter in place while the police operation continues. As of the latest update, authorities had not reported whether the suspect had been detained or provided information regarding any injuries. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
