Severe weather warning for parts of Western Australia on Wednesday (24 January)

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for Wednesday (24 January), for heavy rainfall and damaging winds through parts of northern Western Australia; including Pilbara and Gascoyne, Goldfields and South Interior districts. Other locations include Newman, Leinster, Three Rivers and Wiluna.

Flood watches and flood warnings are current across northern Western Australia catchments including Fitzroy River, Sandy Desert, De Grey River, Pilbara Coast Rivers, Fortescue River and Ashburton River. Minor Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River and Ord River.
