Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds issued for parts of NSW on Tuesday (17 September)

The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) issued a Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds at 1055 hours (local time) on Tuesday (17 September), impacting South Coast, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory Forecast Districts.

• For Alpine Peaks above 1900 metres: damaging winds averaging 80 to 90 km/h with peak gusts of around 115 km/h are expected to develop from early Wednesday (18 September) morning. These winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds during Wednesday (18 September) afternoon.
• For the remainder of the warning area: Strong winds averaging 50 to 60 km/h with damaging wind gusts of around 90 km/h are expected to develop from early Wednesday (18 September) morning. These winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds during Wednesday (18 September) afternoon.
• Locations which may be affected include Braidwood, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Thredbo Top Station, Selwyn and Adaminaby.
