As per reports, Environment Canada issued a Special Weather Statement at 1133 hours local time (1533 hours UTC) on Wednesday (17 June) for the City of Toronto, warning of strong winds, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from early evening on Wednesday (17 June) through Thursday (18 June) morning.

Rainfall amounts of more than 40 millimetres are possible, with a risk of severe thunderstorms late evening and overnight as a strong low pressure system approaches the Greater Toronto Area.
