As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm watch for 21 counties across West Texas, including Tom Green, Sterling, Glasscock, Midland, Ector, and Irion counties on Tuesday (22 April). The watch is in effect until 2300 hours (local time) on Tuesday (22 April).
Cities under the watch include San Angelo, Christoval, Mertzon, Sterling City, Big Spring, Midland, and others throughout the Concho Valley, Permian Basin, and South Plains.
• The storms could become severe, producing large hail up to golf ball size, damaging wind gusts up to 70 miles per hour, and locally heavy rainfall.
