As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning on Thursday (15 May) for parts of central North Carolina, including Wayne, southwestern Wilson, and Johnston counties. At approximately 1626 hours (local time), a severe thunderstorm was detected near Smithfield, moving eastward at about 15 miles per hour. The storm is expected to bring quarter-sized hail and wind gusts reaching up to 60 miles per hour to the affected areas.
