Scheduled water outages announced in parts of Taiwan on Monday (05 October)

According to reports, scheduled water outages will affect parts of 12 counties and cities across Taiwan on Monday (05 October) due to pipeline replacement, new pipeline connections, water-meter maintenance, distribution-tank cleaning and other infrastructure works.

Outage durations will vary by location, with the longest disruption expected in Donggang Township, Pingtung County, where water supply is scheduled to remain suspended for approximately 34 hours until Tuesday (06 October). Following are the announced outage schedules:

• Taipei City: Outages will affect parts of Zhongshan, Wenshan, Wanhua, Beitou and Da’an districts between 0930 hours and 1630 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October), depending on location. Affected areas include sections of Jianguo North Road, Muzha Road, Sanshui Street, Heping West Road, Kangding Road, Gongguan Road, Dongsheng Road, Shandeng Road and Heping East Road.
• New Taipei City: Parts of Zhonghe, Sanchong and Xizhi districts will experience outages between 1000 hours and 1600 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October). Affected roads include Liancheng Road, Liansheng Street, Jingping Road, Fulong Road, Jixian Road, Zhongzheng Road, Hongdao Street, Datong South Road and Guangxing Street.
• Taoyuan City: Guanyin District will experience an outage from 1100 hours to 1900 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October). Parts of Xinwu District, including Houhu and Shilei villages, will be affected from 0900 hours to 1400 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October). A separate outage will affect Xiapu and Shipai villages from 2100 hours on Monday (05 October) to 0300 hours (local time) on Tuesday (06 October).
• Tainan City: Parts of Jiangjun and Yongkang districts will experience outages from 0900 hours to 1700 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to pipeline replacement works.
• Kaohsiung City: Water supply will be suspended across parts of Gangshan District and all of Alian District from 0830 hours to 1200 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to electrical-equipment inspection affecting a booster station.
• Keelung City: Parts of Zhongzheng District, particularly Lane 290 of Tiaohe Street and adjoining lanes, will be affected from 0900 hours to 1600 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to cleaning of a water distribution tank.
• Yilan County: Parts of Zhuangwei Township, including Zhuangwu Road and adjoining lanes, will experience an outage from 1300 hours to 1700 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to pipeline replacement.
• Nantou County: Caotun Township, including Fuding Road and adjoining areas, will experience an outage from 0900 hours to 1200 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October).
• Yunlin County: Parts of Dongshi and Taixi townships will experience outages from 0800 hours to 1800 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to pipeline replacement works.
• Chiayi County: Parts of Minxiong Township, including Zhonghe Village and the Shegou area, will experience an outage from 0800 hours to 1800 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to pipeline improvement works.
• Pingtung County: Parts of Donggang Township will experience a 34-hour outage from 0800 hours on Monday (05 October) to 1800 hours (local time) on Tuesday (06 October). Separate outages will affect parts of Sandimen and Gaoshu townships from 0900 hours to 1700 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October).
• Taitung County: Parts of Guanshan Township will experience outages from 0800 hours to 1700 hours (local time) on Monday (05 October) due to replacement of large water-meter supply equipment.
