Scheduled power outages in Gauteng on Wednesday (05 November)

As per reports, Eskom, South Africa’s state-owned electricity utility, has announced a scheduled 10-hour power outage in parts of Gauteng Province on Wednesday (05 November) as part of essential maintenance on its distribution network.

• The outage is expected to occur from 0800 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) and is expcted to affect customers in the Temba area of Tshwane, including New Eesteerust, Reefentse, Stinkwater RDP, and Trust Farm.
• The power interruption is reportedly necessary to perform maintenance work aimed at ensuring the long-term safety, reliability, and efficiency of the local power infrastructure.
• The utility has also reported that, should unforeseen circumstances arise, the maintenance schedule may be postponed or altered.
