• Red Flag Warnings for critical wildfire conditions will be in effect from 1200 hours (local time) on Tuesday (31 December) until 1800 hours (local time) on Wednesday (01 January), specifically for the Santa Monica Mountains, the western San Gabriel Mountains, and the Antelope Valley Freeway corridor.
• Peak wind gusts of 30 to 45 miles per hour are anticipated in the favored mountain and hill areas, with humidity levels expected to drop below 10 percent in most mountain regions.
• Forecasters initially predicted widespread fire conditions but later revised their predictions, indicating that the wind conditions will be more localized than previously thought. However, elevated fire weather conditions remain.
