Road closures scheduled in Washington D.C. on Thursday (05 December)

As per reports, the National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will take place on Thursday (05 December), at the Ellipse near the White House. Significant road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in downtown Washington, D.C., to accommodate the event.

• Streets closed to vehicle traffic from 1300 hours to 1900 hours (local time) on Thursday (05 December) include 17th Street from H Street to Independence Avenue SW; C Street, D Street, E Street, F Street, and G Street between 17th and 18th Streets NW; New York Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets NW; Constitution Avenue between 18th and 14th Streets NW; 15th Street from F Street to Independence Avenue SW; and Pennsylvania Avenue/E Street between 14th and 15th Streets NW.
• Additionally, ‘Emergency No Parking’ restrictions will be enforced on 17th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Constitution Avenue NW, Constitution Avenue between 18th and 14th Streets NW, and 15th Street from F Street to Constitution Avenue NW from 0930 hours to 1930 hours (local time) on Thursday (05 December). Vehicles parked in violation of these restrictions will be ticketed and towed.
