As per reports, Chișinău municipal authorities have implemented extensive road closures and public transport changes in central Chișinău for the 13th edition of the Chișinău Marathon 2026.
• Road traffic along Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard between Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni Street and Alexandr Pușkin Street is suspended from approximately 0110 hours local time on Saturday (12 September) (2210 hours UTC on 11 September) to 1900 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on Sunday (13 September).
• Additional road closures are scheduled from approximately 0200 hours local time (2300 hours UTC) on Saturday (12 September) to 1700 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on Sunday (13 September) along streets forming the main marathon route.
• During the restrictions, several trolleybus and bus services are being diverted, shortened or temporarily suspended. A dedicated lane along Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard between Ciuflea Street and Ismail Street towards the city centre is being reserved for specific bus and trolleybus routes during the main marathon restrictions on Sunday (13 September).
