As per reports, authorities have announced a complete road closure on the Riau–West Sumatra highway as of Friday (19 September).
• The closure has been enforced at Kelok 9 in Lima Puluh Regency due to a landslide that occurred at around 1900 hours (local time) on Thursday (18 September), which brought down soil and rocks and blocked access in both directions.
• Traffic Police have deployed personnel at XIII Koto Kampar to regulate traffic and warn drivers.
• Residents of Riau planning to travel to West Sumatra have been advised to turn back or postpone their journeys as access remains fully cut off.
