According to reports, protesters staged a road blockade on the Gaibandha-Palashbari road in Gaibandha on Saturday (04 April) to protest the alleged closure of a fertilizer syndicate. The protest was organised under the banner of the Labour Party.

Demonstrators raised slogans and temporarily blocked vehicular movement along the road during the protest programme. Protest leaders warned that a larger protest movement could be launched within the next 48 hours if their demands are not addressed.
