As per reports, a road accident was reported on State Highway 7, north of Waikari, at approximately 0640 hours (local time) on Friday (13 February), after a vehicle left the roadway and crashed. Fire and Emergency New Zealand deployed multiple crews to extricate occupants trapped inside the vehicle, while St John responded with three ambulances and one helicopter for medical evacuation.
• Authorities confirmed that four occupants were removed from the vehicle by approximately 0800 hours (local time). One individual is reported to be in critical condition, two in serious condition, and one in moderate condition.
• State Highway 7 has been blocked between McRaes Road and Mt Alexander Road as a result of the crash, with traffic management measures implemented. The Serious Crash Unit has been notified and investigations are ongoing.
