As per reports, rising cases of Japanese Encephalitis (JE) in Assam have been reported, with the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) reporting 13 deaths linked to the disease in the past three months.

The authorities informed that 47 patients are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. In the past 24 hours alone, GMCH admitted 10 new JE cases, indicating a sharp surge in infections. Moreover, 10 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital.
