As per reports, cases of acute respiratory infections (ARI) continued to increase in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Tuesday (15 September), reportedly due to prolonged exposure to haze generated by forest and land fires.
According to data from the Palembang City Health Office as of September 14, 2026, the number of acute respiratory infections (ARI) cases increased from 3,807 in the fourth week of August to 4,104 in the first week of September, and then reached 4,326 in the second week. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and further details are awaited.
