As per reports, a rapidly growing wildfire, identified as the Rio Blanco Fire, prompted evacuation measures near Pagosa Springs in southern Colorado on Tuesday (28 July).

• The wildfire reportedly began at approximately 1500 hours local time (2100 hours UTC) and was estimated to have burned around 35 acres.
• An evacuation warning was initially issued for the Lower Blanco area after authorities reported a significant and imminent threat. The evacuation warning was subsequently upgraded to a mandatory evacuation order for residents along County Road 335.
• Archuleta County officials reported that an evacuation centre was established at Pagosa Springs High School for displaced residents. The Archuleta County Office of Emergency Management stated that the Emergency Operations Center was being activated and that multiple firefighting resources had been notified and were en route to the incident.
