Red warning issued in Galicia, Cantabria and the Basque Country on Thursday (30 January) due to Storm Ivo

As per reports, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) issued a red warning on Thursday (30 January), for waves reaching eight to nine meters along the coasts of Galicia, Cantabria, and the Basque Country as Atlantic Storm Ivo intensifies.

• The red warning is in effect in Cantabria between 0600 hours (local time) and 1400 hours (local time), and in Vizcaya from 0700 hours (local time) to 1800 hours (local time).
• An orange alert for heavy snowfall has been issued for 11 autonomous communities on Thursday (30 January), primarily affecting mountain regions. Snow accumulation could reach up to 20 centimeters in Asturias (Cantabrian Mountains and Picos de Europa), León (Cantabrian Mountains), Huesca and Navarra (Pyrenees), and Lleida (Aran Valley).
