The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red and orange alerts for extremely heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds across multiple districts in Kerala and Lakshadweep on Sunday (15 June).
Red alert for extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds has been issued for Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, and Malappuram.
• Orange alerts for very heavy rainfall have been issued for Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Kollam.
• Yellow alerts have been issued for Lakshadweep, Pathanamthitta, and Thiruvananthapuram heavy rainfall and strong winds.
