Red flag warning in effect in parts of New Jersey for Thursday (21 March)

As per reports, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a red flag warning for parts of Central and South New Jersey till 1900 hours (local time) on Thursday (21 March), due to forecast of critical fire weather conditions in the area.

• The areas covered under the warning include Middlesex, Western Monmouth, Eastern Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Northwestern Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May, Atlantic Coastal Cape May, Coastal Atlantic, Coastal Ocean and Southeastern Burlington.
• Strong northwest winds of 10 to 20 mph gusting up to 30 mph, and relative humidity as low as 21 percent is being predicted in these areas.
• The New Jersey Forest Fire Service (NJFFS) implemented a stage 03 campfire restriction in Central New Jersey, banning all fires in wooded areas. Agricultural burning is also prohibited in Central New Jersey for Thursday (21 March).
