As per reports, a red alert for flooding has been issued for Pas-de-Calais for flooding on Thursday (04 January ). The Aa River, flowing into the North Sea, is placed on red alert by Vigicrues, with an exceptional flood situation.

An orange alert for Meuse, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Aisne, Ardennes, and Nord has been issued with strong winds, heavy rainfall and potential flooding expected on Thursday 904 January).

• More than 10,000 households in Pas-de-Calais and Nord provinces were reported without electricity due to the severe weather conditions.
• Approximately 198 people have been evacuated from about 50 towns and cities in Pas-de-Calais.
• In Blendecques, close to 8500 residents people are facing power outages, and 2,000 homes face water cuts.
• Significant resources, including requisitions from the private sector and aid from other European states such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and the Netherlands, are being deployed.
