The Department of Meteorology, according to a weather forecast issued at 0530 hours (local time) on Saturday (26 September), states that showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.
Showers or thunderstorms are also expected in Uva province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 1400 hours (local time).
