As per reports, Rome is expected to experience disruptions to public transport and municipal services from Tuesday (09 December), as employees of Atac, the company operating public transport in the city, are scheduled to stage a strike following a call by the Sul Unione Sindacale Unitaria trade union.
• The public transport strike on Tuesday (09 December) is scheduled to affect buses, trams, trolleybuses, electric buses, and metro services managed by Atac across the city of Rome.
• Services are expected to be interrupted from 0830 hours local time to 1700 hours local time (0730 hours UTC to 1600 hours UTC) and again from 2000 hours local time (1900 hours UTC) onwards until the end of service on Tuesday (09 December).
• On Wednesday (10 December), a national strike in the environmental hygiene sector is planned, potentially affecting waste collection and sanitation services in Rome and other Italian cities.
• This environmental hygiene strike has been called by Fp Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro, Fit Confederazione Italiana Sindacati Lavoratori, Uiltrasporti, and Fiadel, and is scheduled to apply to both public and private companies.
• A general strike covering public and private sectors, including procurement and support services, is scheduled for Friday (12 December), following a call by the Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro, with participation from additional union organisations in certain sectors.
