As per reports, protests broke out in the Y Block in the Mangolpuri area of Northwest Delhi on Tuesday (25 June) as parts of a mosque were demolished by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) citing alleged encroachment. The demolition drive began at 0600 hours along with heightened security deployment including Delhi Police and Paramilitary.

The demolition drive was halted as some parts of the alleged encroachment required heavy machinery. Unconfirmed reports stated incidents of stone pelting were witnessed, however, the local police denied the same. Currently, the MCD has not responded to the situation.
