Protests intensify outside South Sumatra DPRD amid 80th Anniversary Plenary Session on Monday (18 May)

As per reports, on Monday (18 May), student demonstrations escalated and turned tense outside the South Sumatra Regional House of Representatives (DPRD Sumsel) building, with student protestors actively forcing a direct audience with officials.

The rally coincides with an ongoing plenary session (Rapat Paripurna) held inside the DPRD building to commemorate the 80th anniversary of South Sumatra Province. The demonstration is concentrated at the DPRD Sumsel office located on Jalan Kapten A. Rivai No.1, Lorok Pakjo, Ilir Barat I, Palembang.
