As per reports, members of the Burimari to Dhaka Intercity Train Implementation Movement Council lifted the highway blockade in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat district, Rangpur division on Tuesday (29 April) morning, after assurances from the Deputy Commissioner and senior railway officials.
The protestors have been demanding direct intercity train service from Burimari and had blocked the highway at Hatibandha.
• The protesters have stated that if there is no satisfactory progress after discussions with the Deputy Commissioner and Railway Advisor, they will return back to the protest.
