As per reports, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) has announced a protest in Bucharest on Wednesday (26 March), at the headquarters of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP) and Victoriei Square. The demonstration coincides with the birthday of former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu.
• The protest aims to call for the resignation of interim AEP president Zsombor Vajda and the appointment of a permanent leader to oversee a fair and transparent electoral process. AUR frames the demonstration as a defense of democracy and free elections.
• AUR has secured authorization for the rally in Victoriei Square but emphasizes that the protest represents the Romanian people. The party clarified that Călin Georgescu and his wife would not attend and refuted claims about organized participation from Moldovan citizens.
