As per reports, on Tuesday (11 March), around 100 members of the Mezquitán Indigenous community, along with their families and supporters, staged a demonstration outside the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) office in Jalisco.

• The protest, which took place on Lázaro Cárdenas Avenue, lasted for at least 30 minutes, causing temporary traffic disruptions.
• The demonstrators were demanding immediate compensation for lands expropriated 21 years ago for the construction of a highway section to Saltillo in the municipality of Zapopan. Despite previous commitments from authorities, payments have been delayed, with federal notifications failing to prompt action.
• Protesters highlighted that an initial compensation of four million pesos was provided during occupancy agreements, but no further payments have been made since.
