As per reports, several thousand members of the Gond Gowari community from across Maharashtra held a protest in Nagpur on Monday (05 February) seeking caste certificates.
The demonstration which took place from Constituent Chowk in Bardi to Jashirani Chowk, led to heavy traffic congestion for several hours on key roads with hundreds of protesters blockading Samvidhan Chowk and Variety Chowk and consequently impacting traffic movement through Sitabuldi, Ramdaspeth and CA Road. Additionally, the Gowari flyover at Sitabardi was reportedly closed by the police as a precautionary measure.
