As per reports, Northern Provincial Development Officers organized a trade union protest on Monday (13 October) in front of the Northern Provincial Governor’s Office in Jaffna, demanding transfer.

• More than a hundred development officers from the Jaffna district working in Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Mannar and Vavuniya districts participated in this protest.
• The developmental officers had launched this protest, stating that despite many years having passed since completing their out-of-district service period, the officers have not yet been transferred under the proper mechanism.
