According to reports, members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest against the Karnataka state government’s alleged financial mismanagement, rising liabilities and delays in developmental works near the Kengal Hanumanthaiah statue, near Vidhana Soudha, in Bengaluru on Wednesday (23 September).
The BJP demanded greater financial accountability and the resignation of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, alleging financial mismanagement and diversion of Scheduled Cast/Scheduled Tribe welfare funds. The party also called for the publication of a white paper on the state’s finances.
