As per reports, thousands of Anganwadi workers and helpers protested in Vijayawada on Wednesday (03 January) despite the restrictions imposed by the police. They demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government concede their demands and increase their salary.
The police took some protesters into preventive custody and shifted them to the police stations nearby when they tried to stage a protest at the Collectorate.
