As per reports, 11 Durham Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday (31 January) as staff represented by the Durham Association of Educators have announced strike action. A demonstration is scheduled to take place in the vicinity of the at the Fuller Building starting 1400 hours (local time).

The schools affected are YE Smith Elementary, the Whitted School, Lyons Farm Elementary, Forest View Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Spring Valley Elementary, Githens Middle School, Lucas Middle, Riverside High School, Northern High School, Jordan High School, and Hillside High School.
