As per reports, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been implemented in Pimpri Chinchwad from Saturday (11 May) to Tuesday midnight (14 May) ahead of polling day on Monday (13 May) amidst the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha (Upper House of Parliament) elections across the country.
• On Monday (13 May), presiding officers and designated government personnel assigned for election duty are allowed within 100 meters of polling centers. Others are prohibited from using mobiles, internet devices, or any other telecommunication device around the voting booth.
• Temporary party booths/offices cannot be set up within 200 meters of designated voting centers.
• Individuals with personal security protection are not permitted to enter within 100 meters of voting stations whilst accompanied by security personnel. They can only enter alone.
• Campaigning within 200 meters of any voting center is strictly prohibited on Monday (13 May).
• Vehicles are prohibited from entering within a 200-meter radius of any voting station.
• The use of loudspeaker, megaphones, shouting, or any related activity is banned within 100 meters of voting center.
• Sending bulk messages for campaigning or political propaganda is prohibited till the end of Monday (13 May).
• Carrying any weapons (even if licensed) within 200 meters of voting station is strictly prohibited.
