As per reports, strong wind gusts ranging between 20 to 60 miles per hour downed trees and branches, resulting in thousands of power outages in parts of New York State on Monday (11 March) afternoon.
• As of Monday (11 March) 1630 hours (local time), Con Edison recorded more than 630 customers without power in Westchester County, while New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) reported 1,228 outages in Westchester County and 1,560 outages in Putnam County at the same time.
• In Westchester County, most of the outages were reported in Bedford, while in Putnam County, majority of the outages occurred in Putnam Valley.
• As of late Monday (11 March) afternoon, a total of 751 Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG) Long Island customers were without power. Most of these outages were recorded in Nassau County with 430 customers, followed by Suffolk County with 308 customers.
• As of Monday (11 March) evening, most of the power outages were recorded in Sullivan County with around 4612 outages followed by Ulster County with 3756 outages.
• The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued wind advisories across the New York State through Monday (11 March), including in the City of New York where strong winds of up to 50 mph are expected to last at least until 2300 hours (local time) on Monday (11 March).
