As per reports, the City of Cape Town has announced a planned power outage affecting several coastal suburbs as part of scheduled high-voltage infrastructure maintenance works on 22 August.
• The outage is scheduled to commence at 2200 hours local time (2000 hours UTC) on 22 August and is expected to last until 0600 hours local time (0400 hours UTC) on 23 August, covering a period of approximately eight hours.
• The affected areas include Sea Point, Camps Bay, Clifton and Signal Hill, covering both the blue and purple sections as designated on the City’s outage map.
• The maintenance is weather-dependent. Should conditions on 22 August not permit the works to proceed as scheduled, an alternate date of 29 August has been set aside.
