As per the reports, Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Paris is scheduled for 25 September and 26 September, with a papamobile procession, a visit to UNESCO headquarters and an outdoor Mass at Place de la Concorde and the Champs Élysées.
• Reports indicate that road closures, parking restrictions and Metro and RER station closures may affect central Paris during the visit.
• Several metro and RER stations along the papamobile route from Notre Dame des Champs to Place Saint Michel are scheduled to close from 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) on 25 September.
• The affected stations include Notre Dame des Champs on Line 12, Vavin and Saint Placide on Line 04, Port Royal and Luxembourg on RER B, Saint Michel and Saint Michel Notre Dame on Line 04, RER B and RER C, and Cité on Line 04. Reopening times have not been announced.
• Varenne on Line 13, Ségur on Line 10, Saint François Xavier on Line 13 and Duroc on Lines 10 and 13 are scheduled to close from 1200 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) to 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on 25 September due to the Pope’s visit to UNESCO headquarters.
• The papamobile procession is scheduled to take place from 1600 hours local time (1400 hours UTC) on 25 September between Notre Dame des Champs and Place Saint Michel, covering approximately 2.5 kilometres.
• Parking restrictions in parts of the 8th arrondissement are already in effect from 0900 hours local time (0700 hours UTC) on Tuesday (15 September) and are scheduled to remain in place until 2359 hours local time (2159 hours UTC) on 01 October.
• Place de la Concorde has been closed from 2200 hours local time (2000 hours UTC) on Wednesday (16 September). Additional restrictions around Place de la Concorde, the Champs Élysées and surrounding areas are scheduled from 2200 hours local time (2000 hours UTC) on Wednesday (16 September).
• Additional road closures and parking restrictions around Place de l’Étoile and the Champs Élysées are scheduled from 1400 hours local time (1200 hours UTC) on 25 September, with the security perimeter scheduled to expand from 2200 hours local time (2000 hours UTC).
• A broad traffic and parking restriction is scheduled from 0800 hours local time (0600 hours UTC) to 2000 hours local time (1800 hours UTC) on 26 September across parts of the seventh and eighth arrondissements. The affected areas include Place de la Concorde, the Champs Élysées, Invalides, the Seine quays and the National Assembly and Palais Bourbon areas.
• The outdoor Mass is scheduled for 1500 hours local time (1300 hours UTC) on 26 September at Place de la Concorde and along the Champs Élysées. The ceremony is expected to conclude at approximately 1630 hours local time (1430 hours UTC).
• The dismantling activities around Place de la Concorde are scheduled from 1200 hours local time (1000 hours UTC) on 28 September and may continue until 2359 hours local time (2159 hours UTC) on 10 October, with associated traffic restrictions.
