According to reports, police on Wednesday (26 February) blocked a march by Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders towards the Chief Advisor’s (CA) residence in Dhaka as protestors demanded that general elections be held before any local elections.

Police prevented former elected public representatives from BNP from progressing near the National Eidgah. A verbal altercation ensued, before police allowed a small delegation to head for the CA’s residence for submitting a memorandum on BNP’s demands.
