As per reports, the City of Cape Town has announced a planned 16-hour power supply disruption scheduled to take place from 1800 hours local time (1600 hours UTC) on 25 July until 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) on 26 July.

• The metropolitan municipality stated that the infrastructure operations will proceed provided all technical tasks are completed as planned. Furthermore, an alternative date is expected to be announced by municipal authorities if the scheduled maintenance cannot be executed during the primary window.
• According to reports, the electrical network maintenance will result in complete power supply disruptions across multiple commercial and residential zones, including Pinelands, Langa, and Epping.
• Municipal advisories indicate that specific zones highlighted on the official outage map, including Howard Centre and Epping Industria, are projected to experience total loss of electricity supply.
• Additionally, peripheral and nearby areas adjacent to these main zones may also experience temporary grid interruptions during the 16-hour maintenance period. The electricity supply could be restored earlier than the projected 1000 hours local time (0800 hours UTC) on 26 July if engineering work concludes ahead of the anticipated timeline.
