As per reports, the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has scheduled a planned power outage on Tuesday (06 May), across eight counties in Kenya.
• The power interruptions are part of routine system maintenance aimed at upgrading and servicing power lines.
• According to KPLC, the affected counties include Nairobi, Nakuru, Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Embu, Homa Bay, and Nandi.
• Power outages in the affected areas are expected to last for up to nine hours, beginning from 0800 hours (local time).
• In Nairobi County, areas such as Loresho, Nairobi West, and parts of Langata Road will be affected from 0900 hours (local time) to 1700 hours (local time).
• Other affected areas include Mbita and Rusinga in Homa Bay, Gachungu and Katambararia in Embu, and Serenani and Talek in Nakuru, also between 0800 hours (local time) and 1700 hours (local time).
• In Mombasa, Kilifi, and Kwale, business and residential areas including industrial zones like Vipingo Industries and Pwani Oil Ltd will experience power cuts.
