As per reports, a hazmat incident on Interstate 10 (I-10) near Stuckey’s in Jefferson County, Texas, resulted in a partial closure of the highway on Monday (07 September).
• The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is assisting Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers at the scene. The Beaumont Fire Department’s hazmat team has been deployed to make the affected area safe as of 1842 hours local time (2342 hours UTC) on Monday (07 September).
• The nature and cause of the hazmat incident, and the substance or substances involved, have not been confirmed in available reports. Crews are reported to be working to secure the area and remove items from a trailer at the scene.
• The partial closure of I-10 in the affected section remains in effect. Officials are asking all drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes. The duration of the closure has not been confirmed.
