As per a statement issued by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) General Secretariat, the OIC has scheduled an emergency meeting of the Open-ended Executive Committee at the level of Foreign Ministers at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Thursday (26 February).

• The meeting is reportedly open to all foreign ministers of member states and is scheduled to discuss the Israeli government’s decisions authorizing the registration of lands in the West Bank as ‘state property’.
• According to reports, the OIC stated that the meeting aims to coordinate member states’ positions and explore collective measures to address the decisions, which undermine the two‑state solution and alter the legal, political, and demographic status of Palestinian territories.
• According to the reports, the Palestinian Authority (PA) Presidency has characterised the land registration decision as a declaration of de facto annexation. Jordan’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement calling on the international community to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to halt what it described as a significant escalation. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, one of the principal architects of the measure, has publicly described the initiative as part of a broader objective to extend Israeli settlement and sovereignty in the West Bank.
