The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow and orange weather alerts for parts of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday (13 April) and Sunday (14 April).

• Saturday (13 April): Orange alert has been issued for Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Sagar, Raisen, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Chhindwara, Betul, Hoshangabad, Sehore, Anuppur, Dindori. Thunderstorm, lightning, hailstorm and strong surface winds are forecast for these regions. Yellow alert has been issued for Neemuch, Agar-Malwa, Rajgarh, Shajapur, Dewas, Indore, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur Kalan, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, Jabalpur, Damoh, Mandla, Balaghat. Thunderstorm, lightning, and strong surface winds are forecast for these regions.
• Sunday (14 April): Yellow alert has been issued for Neemuch, Sheopur Kalan, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Guna, Vidisha, Raisen, Betul, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, Umaria, Katni. Thunderstorm, lightning, and strong surface winds are forecast for these regions.
