As per reports, nursery school workers are scheduled to hold a rally in A Coruña at 1900 hours local time (1700 hours UTC) on Thursday (17 September) as part of a nationwide mobilisation concerning working conditions in the zero to three early childhood education sector.
• Reports indicate that the organisers are calling for a significant reduction in classroom ratios and the mandatory establishment of an educational pair, with two professionals assigned to each group to facilitate personalised attention.
• The platform also demands that the first cycle of early childhood education be formally recognised as an educational level and incorporated into the regional Department of Education in Galicia.
• Reportedly, the group is also seeking free professional training conducted during working hours, dedicated time for lesson planning and parental engagement, and changes to the school calendar for children aged zero to three.
