As per reports, the anti-Trump ‘No Kings’ movement organized a series of demonstrations, community events, watch parties, and public gatherings across New York coinciding with President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday celebrations on Sunday (14 June).
• The focal event was the ‘Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment,’ held at the historic The Town Hall in New York City. The 90-minute program was organized by the Committee for the First Amendment in partnership with organizations including Indivisible and the No Kings movement.
• Organizers stated that the purpose of the concert and associated events was to highlight the freedoms protected under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, including freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, the right to peaceful assembly, and the right to protest.
• Organizers reportedly stated that the event was held under enhanced security measures and formed part of a broader series of nationwide activities that included public gatherings, community events, and viewing parties.
