As per reports, Stockton on Tees Borough Council made the A1305 Riverside, Stockton Dual Carriageway and Prohibition of Right Turn Order 2025 on Friday (12 June). The order is scheduled to come into effect on Sunday (21 June), with no specific start time published.
• The order introduces a new dual carriageway on A1305 Riverside between Tower Street and Bridge Road, and from its junction with Council of Europe Boulevard southbound for approximately 300 metres. It also prohibits right turn movements from A1305 Riverside onto Quayside Road and from Quayside Road onto A1305 Riverside.
• The order was made under Sections one, two and four of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police.
• A related speed limit order is also scheduled to take effect on Sunday (21 June), revoking the 40 miles per hour limit on part of A1305 Riverside and making the full length of A1305 Riverside a restricted road subject to the national 30 miles per hour limit.
