According to reports, the new moon phenomenon has the potential to increase the maximum tidal height, which can cause coastal flooding in several Indonesian waters on Saturday (06 July). The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has stated that the timing for tidal flooding potential is different in each region.

• Flooding in North Sumatra’s Belawan coast and surrounding areas could occur from 03-06 July, based on water level monitoring data and tidal forecasts. In West Sumatra, flooding is expected to occur on 04-08 July.
• For the coast of Riau Islands on the coast of Karimun,03-09 July; the coast of Dabo Singkep from 05-09 July; the coast of Batam from 07-08 July; the coast of Tanjung Uban from 07-09 July.
• The potential for tidal flooding would also occur on the west and south coasts of Banten on 03-08 July. For the north coast of Banten on 04-08 July. On the north coast of Central Java on 07-13 July.
• Tidal flooding may also occur in the port of Surabaya, East Surabaya, Kalianget-Madura on 04-09 July. For the north coast of Jakarta on 03-09 July. Tidal flooding is also possible on the coast of Flores Island, the coast of Sumba Island, the coast of Sabu-Raijua on 03-07 July; and the coast of West Kalimantan on 06-10 July.
