As per reports, Calgary is scheduled to celebrate its annual Neighbour Day on Saturday (20 June), with block parties, barbecues and community gatherings expected across the city.
• The event was declared by the City of Calgary in 2014 after the 2013 floods to recognise community resilience.
• The City has provided 54 microgrants to business improvement areas, community associations and non-profit organisations to support local celebrations.
• Approved block parties and greenspace events may involve local street closures, increased pedestrian activity and temporary access changes across participating neighbourhoods.
